Direct Acids can be tricky to incorporate into your routine and with so many options, it’s hard to know where to start. Our AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution has gotten so much attention lately, but it may seem a little intimidating.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5%
If you are new to Direct Acids or would prefer something more mild, you may wish to reach for The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% or The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10%. Think of this as a more gentle step into the wonderful world of AHAs
Inexperienced users of direct acids may wish to explore The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% which is an alpha hydroxy acid that offers mild exfoliation for the skin.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10%
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% provides a more high strength formulation great for use once your skin becomes a bit more acquainted. Exfoliating products such as these can be effective in helping with textural irregularities and brightening the overall tone of the skin. Both of these formulations also include Tasmanian Pepperberry which helps to impart a comforting effect on the skin.
As with any Direct Acids, we recommend avoiding use of this product in routines containing: Pure/Ethylated Vitamin C, Retinoids, Peptides, EUK 134 0.1%, and other direct acids. Lactic Acid 5% or 10% may be used once a day in your PM routine.
If you wish, you may also use less frequently, or dilute the formulation to reduce strength. until your skin builds tolerance. We recommend continued use for best results and don’t forget to apply sun protection as this product may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun.
